A friend who is also a yoga teacher recently honored me with an invitation to teach Optimal Movement to her students.. She’d been excited about the Feldenkrais Method in general, and my work specifically, because it’s specifically designed to help over-50 women who struggle with balance and stability. She thought this work would help her people with their standing poses (she also wanted a chance to get on the floor herself!)
Well we did the class last Saturday. It was such a pleasure to teach this group. When they stood up after the lesson to notice differences, some of them looked amazed. “All my pain is gone!”, one called out. Another emailed me the next day to say
” I believe that your class helped me greatly; a constant right hip ache disappeared! So, I would like to ask about attending your classes regularly, if that is an option.”
With that response, I decided to offer at least a couple of follow up classes for them, and invite others to join. They are this Saturday and next: July 27th and August 3rd.
It’s short notice, I know. But to be honest, I was on the fence about offering more classes this summer at all. So many people are out of town, or just want to spend more time outside… That being said, these same people want to be able to ENJOY these precious summer days. Pain, stiffness…fear of falling, can really bum that mellow.
These classes are offered 10-11:30am, so you can be back out in the sun…rejuvenated, balanced and comfortable- before noon.
Here are the details:
